On Monday 20 July 2020, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) received representatives of the Indigenous Marathon Foundation. This included: Mr Robert De Castella AO MBE, Founder and Director; Mr Adrian Dodson-Shaw, Head Coach; Ms Cara Smith, Deadly Running Australia Manager; and Ms Lisa Ross, FrontRunners Manager.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received Ms Pat Turner, CEO, National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation and Ms Katrina Fanning, ACT Indigenous Elected Body Representative, Coalition of Peaks.
Later, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley received a telephone call from Cr Clare Stewart, Mayor, Noosa Council, to discuss bushfire recovery efforts and responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received a telephone call from Cr Philip Curr, Mayor, McKinlay Shire, to discuss the progress of recovery and rebuilding since the Julia Creek floods in July 2019 and acknowledge the new challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
