On Thursday 15 August 2019, His Excellency, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), received a briefing on the international and domestic economy from Mr Philip Gaetjens, Secretary, Australian Treasury; Dr Philip Lowe, Governor, Reserve Bank of Australia; and Mr Brenton Goldsworthy, First Assistant Secretary, Economic Division, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Frances Adamson, Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, attended a reception and photographic exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth of Australia and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
