On Friday 21 June 2019, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received Mr Tom Rogers, Electoral Commissioner, Australian Electoral Commission (AEC); Mr Andrew Gately, National Election Manager, AEC, and Mr Paul Pirani, Chief Legal Officer, AEC, to receive the writs from the 2019 Federal Election.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Mrs Sharon Prendergast LVO, Director, Honours and Awards Branch, Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General.
