On Thursday 13 June 2019, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Mr Peter Roberts OAM, Australian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, for a mid-term call.

Later, the Governor-General received Ms Claire Ireland, the Head of Mission-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for a pre-posting call.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a farewell dinner for Air Marshal Leo Davies AO CSC, Chief of Air Force.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from St Augustine’s School, Currumbin Waters, Queensland, and Hornsby North Public School, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
