On Tuesday 27 August 2019, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley hosted a morning tea for National Wattle Day.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Mr Bruce Lendon, High Commissioner-Designate to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Mrs Tamie Balaga.

Later, the Governor-General received His Excellency Mr Reiichiro Takahashi, Ambassador of Japan. At the same time, Mrs Hurley received Mrs Masako Takahashi.
