On Monday 2 September 2019, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Teresa Scott, President, National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, attended a morning tea and question and answer panel for National Child Protection Week at the Australian Catholic University.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Dr Brendan Nelson AO, Director, Australian War Memorial, and Legatee Rick Cranna OAM, Chairman, Legacy Australia, attended the national launch of Legacy Week at the Australian War Memorial.

Later, the Governor-General received Lieutenant General Laurie O’Donnell AC (Retd) and Mrs June O’Donnell.
