On Thursday, 8 April 2021, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Mrs Camilla Solomon as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Nauru. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mrs Kellen Deiye, First Secretary.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Werner Matias Romero Guerra as the Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Roger Alexander Atwood, Spouse; and Ms Eileen Lizzie Lozano Granados, Consul General.
Later, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr John Tipis as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Kenya. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Ms Betty Chemoiwa, Counsellor; Mr Mathew Kaikai, Counsellor; and Mr Daniel Charana, Third Secretary.
Then, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Radu-Gabriel Safta as the Ambassador of Romania.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a lunch for the newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included: Ms Betty Chemoiwa, Counsellor, High Commission of the Republic of Kenya; Mr Christopher Langman, Representing the Foreign Minister; Deputy Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ms Eileen Lizzie Lozano Grandos, Consul-General, Consulate of the Republic of El Salvador; Mr Ian McConville, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; His Excellency Mr Miguel Palomino De La Gala, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps; Ambassador of the Republic of Peru and Mrs Teresita Daroca Capell; His Excellency Mr Werner Matias Romero Guerra, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador and Mr Roger Atwood; His Excellency Mr Radu-Gabriel Safta, Ambassador of Romania; Her Excellency Mrs Camilla Solomon, High Commissioner for the Republic of Nauru; Ms Jo Tarnawsky, Acting Official Secretary to the Governor-General; and His Excellency Mr John Tipis, High Commissioner for the Republic of Kenya.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, hosted a reception to launch the Centenary of Rotary in Australia commemorative book.
