On Monday 16 August 2021, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) recorded a video message for Indonesian Independence Day.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, a guests of Professor Graham Durant AM, Director, Questacon, hosted the Governor-General’s Virtual Design Challenge as part of National Science Week.

Later, the Governor-General met with His Excellency Mr Babar Amin, High Commissioner for Pakistan, via video conference.

Then, the Governor-General received a phone call from Mr Robert Macklin, Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received a phone call from Councillor Ian Woodcock, Mayor, Walgett Shire Council.
