On Friday 20 August 2021, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) met with Mr Chris Hartley, Executive Director, Governor-General’s Australia Future Leaders Programme.

Afterwards, Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley received a phone call from Ms Johanna Wilson, Assistant Director - Partnerships and Events, National Archives of Australia.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Councillor Darcy Byrne, Mayor, Inner West Council, via video conference.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Councillor Chris Cherry, Mayor, Tweed Shire Council, via video conference.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with representatives of Byron Shire Council via video conference including Councillor Michael Lyon, Mayor; Mr Mark Arnold, General Manager; Mr Phil Holloway, Director, Infrastructure Services; and Ms Shannon Burt, Director, Sustainable Environment and Economy.
