On Friday 17 September 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley received a phone call from Mr Mohammed Ali, President, and Mr Manar Ahmad, Secretary, HelpingACT.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received a phone call from Mr Gary Malhorta and family, Community Volunteers.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a virtual Citizenship Ceremony in recognition of the 20th Anniversary of Australian Citizenship Day.

Then, the Governor-General recorded video messages for the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation and General James (Jim) Mattis, United States Marine Corps (Retd).

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Mr Alan Cransberg, Chairman, and staff and participants of the Wirrpanda Foundation, via video conference.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Mr Garry Keeffe, Chief Executive Officer, and members of the Northampton Shire Council, via video conference.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Ms Melissa Pexton, State Recovery Controller, and members of the State Recovery Team for ex-Tropical Cyclone Seroja, via video conference.
