On Friday 24 September 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley received a phone call from Ms Monica Majak, Founder, Sudanese Mothers Coalition of Victoria.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with members of Sikh Volunteers Australia, including: Mr Bhupinder Singh, Treasurer; Mr Jaswinder Singh, Secretary; and Mr Manpreet Singh, Vice President, via video conference.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with staff of the Humour Foundation, including: Ms Rebecca Ong, Chairperson; Mr Tony Warner, Chief Executive Officer; Mr David Symons, Artistic Director; and Ms Jen McGregor, Laughter Care Practitioner. In addition, Their Excellencies met with Ms Deborah Key, Chief Executive Officer, and residents of the Bankstown City Aged Care Facility via video conference.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Ms Gayle Sloan, Chief Executive Officer, Waste Management and Response Recovery Association Australia, via video conference.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley met with Ms Michelle McCormack, Executive Officer, Ronald McDonald House Charities ACT and South East NSW, and families supported by the Ronald McDonald House Foundation, via video conference.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Mr James and Mrs Annabelle Tilbrook, Owners, Tilbrook Estate Winery, via video conference.
Then, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Mrs Hurley met with Medal of the Order of Australia recipients from regional NSW, including: Ms Kaye Chapman OAM, Ms Susan Nicholls OAM, and Ms Shirley Stonestreet OAM, via video conference.
