On Friday 1 October 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley received a phone call from Ms Afshan Mantoo, Chairperson, Muslim Women’s Council of Victoria.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received a phone call from Ms Sana Karanouh, President, and Ms Rima Waizani, Vice President, Community Care Kitchen.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley recorded video messages for the Goulburn Lilac Festival and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with students of the Defence and Strategic Studies Course, and participated in a question and answer session, via video conference.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a phone call from His Excellency Mr David Yardley, Australian High Commissioner to the Republic of Kiribati.
