On Wednesday 6 October 2021, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), recorded video messages for Oasis Townsville, Glaucoma Australia, the SAS Trust and the Goulburn Chamber of Commerce.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley met with Councillor Tony Rayner, Mayor, Longreach Shire Council, via video conference.

Later, the Governor-General, as Chancellor, and Mrs Hurley met with Major General Michael Crane DSC and Bar AM (Retd), Chair, and members of the Order of Australia Association (ACT Branch), via video conference.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley recorded a video message for Restart-A-Heart.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Chancellor, and Mrs Hurley met with Mr Tony Metcalf OAM, Chair, and members of the Order of Australia Association (SA Branch), via video conference.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with staff and students of Melba Secondary College, via video conference.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Dr Gary Bacon AM, Chairman, and members of the Order of Australia Association (QLD Branch), via video conference.

In the evening, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, and the Governor-General, attended a virtual event with The OZY Youth Choir in recognition of Veterans’ Health Week.
