On Wednesday 2 October 2019, at Government House, Canberra, Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted a musical gathering for the Association of Spouses of Heads of Mission.

Afterwards, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Hurley hosted a ceremony at which the Governor-General was invested as the Chief Scout of Australia.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a ceremony at which Mr Reece Kershaw APM was sworn-in as Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a reception for the Australasian Study of Parliament 2019 National Conference.
