Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley departed Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, for London, United Kingdom.
Following the departure of the Governor-General from Australia to the United Kingdom, the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria.
