On Thursday 31 October 2019, His Excellency, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General hosted a lunch for Mr Tim Lindsey AO, Director, Centre for Indonesian Law, Islam and Society, University of Melbourne.

Later, the Governor-General received the interim report for the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety from Ms Lynelle Briggs AO, Commissioner, and Dr James Popple, Official Secretary.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Her Excellency, Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Craig Ritchie, Chair, Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Services, Ms Julie Tongs OAM, Chief Executive Officer, Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Services, and Mr Derek Brown, Junior Assistant Coach, Winnunga Boxing Club, visited the Winnunga Boxing Gym at Fyshwick, Australian Capital Territory.
