On Tuesday 11 October 2022, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Zsolt Csenger-Zalán as the Ambassador of Hungary. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Katalin Csenger-Zalán, spouse; and Dr Diana Haszonics, Deputy Head of Commission.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Dr Markus Ederer as the Ambassador of Germany. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Beate Grzeski, spouse; and representatives of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, including Dr Andreas Radtke, Counsellor; Lieutenant Colonel Alois Mario Wagner, Defence Attaché; and Mr Jens Hoch, First Secretary.

Later, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Dr Nor-Eddine Benfreha as the Ambassador of Algeria. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Cherif Khali, Minister.

Then, the Governor-General, and Mrs Hurley hosted a lunch for newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included: His Excellency Dr Elias Munshya, High Commissioner for Zambia and Mrs Mirriam Manda, First Secretary; His Excellency Mr Bassam Alqabandi, Ambassador of Kuwait and Mrs Maha Alfalah; Her Excellency Ms Anne Riise, Ambassador of Norway and Mr Morten Aulund, First Secretary; His Excellency Mr Antonis Sammoutis, High Commissioner for Cyprus; His Excellency Mr Pontus Melander, Ambassador of Sweden and Ms Ulrika Gustafsson, Second Secretary; His Excellency Mr Zsolt Csenger-Zalán, Ambassador of Hungary and Mrs Katalin Csenger-Zalán; His Excellency Dr Markus Ederer, Ambassador of Germany and Mrs Beate Grzeski; His Excellency Dr Nor-Eddine Benfreha, Ambassador of Algeria and Mr Cherif Khali, Minister; His Excellency Dr Ali Kraishan, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Jordan and Mrs Lubna Kraishan; Mr Ian McConville, Chief of Protocol, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ms Beth Delaney, representing the Foreign Minister, Acting Deputy Secretary, Development and Multilateral Group, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Mr Jeff Barnes, Deputy Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, received His Excellency Mr Oscar Atehortúa, Ambassador of Colombia and Mrs Adriana Correa.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a call from the Honourable Kate Lundy, Chair of the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre.

Later, the Governor-General as Patron, and Mrs Hurley hosted a reception for the 40th Anniversary of the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program.

In the evening, the Governor-General was represented at Festival Hall for the State Memorial of Mr John Famechon AM by Brigadier Rod Marsh PSM HADC.
