On Monday 24 October 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, hosted a morning tea for Hindu Council of Australia and lit a celebratory lamp in recognition of Deepavali 2022.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received representatives of The Fathering Project, including Mr Geoff Lloyd, Chairman; Ms Káti Gapaillard, Chief Executive Officer; and Dr Bruce Robinson, Founder.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Major General Michael Smith AO (Retd), Chairperson; and Lieutenant Colonel Kate Tollenaar, Secretary, Gallipoli Scholarship Fund.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as joint Patrons, hosted a reception for the United Nations Association of Australia in recognition of UN Day 2022.
