On Friday 8 November 2019, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) received Mrs Heidi Venamore, Ambassador-designate to the United Arab Emirates, for a pre-posting call.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of His Excellency Mr Arthur Culvahouse Jr, Ambassador of the United States of America, attended a ball to celebrate the 244th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.
