On Monday 18 November 2019, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Ian Wright, Head Coach, observed an on-water training session and attended a breakfast with members of Rowing Australia’s High Performance Team, at the Men’s National Training Centre in Yarralumla.
Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received His Excellency Dr Ibrahim Baroudi, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan, for a farewell call.
Later, Mrs Hurley received Ms Deborah Banks, a representative from Clean Slate Counselling.
Then, the Governor-General received Major General Bill Crews AO, Chair, Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust.
In the evening, the Governor-General, as Chief Scout of the Scout Association of Australia, and Mrs Hurley hosted the 2019 Queen’s Scout and Baden-Powell Scout Awards.
