On Friday 26 May 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) met with students from Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School, The Entrance, Shelly Beach, NSW.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley attended a swearing-in ceremony at which the Governor-General administered the Affirmation of Office to Ms Farzian Zainal, Administrator of the Territory of Christmas Island, and Administrator of the Territory of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands; and Mr George Plant, Administrator of the Territory of Norfolk Island.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.
