On Wednesday 5 July 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) was represented at Sydney International Airport for the departure of His Excellency Mr Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, by Mr Paul Singer MVO, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Ivan Slavich, Chief Executive Officer, attended the 2023 KEEPUP Kanga Cup U9 and U10 games.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of His Excellency Mr Tim Mawe, Ambassador of Ireland, and Dr Jeff Brownrigg, attended a book launch celebrating the 75th anniversary of Irish-Australian diplomacy.

Earlier, the Governor-General was represented at The Immigration Museum Melbourne, for the State Funeral Service in honour of the Honourable Thomas (Tom) William Roper by Honorary Aide-de-Camp Brigadier Robert Marsh ADC.
