On Thursday 3 August 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from St Matthew’s Catholic School, Mudgee, New South Wales.

Later, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Jo White, Director, attended a briefing ahead of the Governor-General’s Design Challenge at Questacon.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley, hosted an afternoon tea for the Aruma Human Rights Advisory Committee.
