On Wednesday 16 August 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as Patron, and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Rachel Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, attended the 2024 season launch for the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.  

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a training session for the Australian Command and Staff College Rugby Union Team.
