On Thursday 17 August 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) participated in an interview with Lieutenant Colonel Richard Thapthimthong CSC for the Royal Australian Regiment Foundation podcast.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Jason Russell ACM, Assistant Commissioner, ACT Corrective Services, visited the Alexander Maconochie Correctional Centre where they met with staff and detainees.
