On Tuesday 5 September 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley received Ms Tegan Brink, Australian High Commissioner to South Africa.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received His Excellency Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of Botswana.

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Harinder Sidhu, Australian High Commissioner to New Zealand.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, accompanied by Ms Judith Sturman, Executive Group Manager, Transport Canberra, travelled on the Canberra light rail from Alinga Street Station to Nullarbor Avenue Station.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Kate Flynn, Principal, attended the Franklin School’s 10th anniversary assembly.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Major General Michael Smith AO (Retd), Chairman, Gallipoli Scholarship Fund.

Then, the Governor-General recorded a video message for the National Police Bravery Awards.
