On Wednesday 4 October 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Janti Kalajoqa as the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Ambassador was accompanied by representatives of the Embassy of Jordan including Mr Yazan Bazadough, Deputy Head of Mission.
Then, the Governor-General, accompanied by Mrs Hurley, received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Ajay Amrit as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Fiji. The High Commissioner was accompanied by his spouse Mrs Sangita Amrit and representatives of the High Commission of Fiji including Ms Salote Tagivakatini, Counsellor; Ms Farisha Ali, First Secretary; and Ms Sarah De Andrade Ribeiro Venites, Second Secretary.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received Lieutenant General Simon Stuart AO DSC, Chief of Army, and Brigadier James Davis, Director-General Future Land Warfare.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General met with students from Carey Baptist Grammar School, Carey, Victoria.
Then, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted an afternoon tea for the Global Voices Youth Leaders.
