On Thursday 5 October 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as Patron, and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley as guests of Mr Jim Thornton, Men’s Shed Representative Zone 13, attended a Men’s Shed Gathering as part of Mental Health month.

Then, the Governor-General received a phone call from Ms Gwen Cherne, Veteran Family Advocate Commissioner.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with Councillor Russell Fitzpatrick, Mayor, Bega Valley Shire Council, and members of the Bega Incident Control Centre, via video conference. 

In the afternoon, Mrs Hurley, as guest of Ms Wendy Shannon, President, attended the Allambee monthly luncheon in Yass, New South Wales. 

Then, the Governor-General met with students from Yarra Valley Grammer School, Victoria.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a phone call from Commissioner Rob Rogers AFSM, New South Wales Rural Fire Service.     

In the evening, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Paul Kildea, Artistic Director, Musica Viva Australia, attended the Vision String Quartet concert.
