On Monday 22 July 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) received Mr Andrew Barr MLA, Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory, and Mr Michael Cook, Chief of Staff.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted the Honourable Sir William Deane AC KBE QC, former Governor-General of Australia, and Lady Helen Deane for lunch.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received the Honourable James Marape MP, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, and Mrs Rachael Marape.

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Frances Adamson, Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Dr Martin Parkinson AC PSM, Secretary, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet; Mr Nick Warner AO PSM, Director-General, National Intelligence; and Mr Peter Tesch, representing the Secretary, Department of Defence.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a reception for the Australian Strategic Policy Institute’s Australia Indonesia Strategic Dialogue.
