On Friday 9 February 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, received Ms Ellizabeth Peak, Deputy Secretary and Head of the Office of the Pacific, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.   

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received the Honourable James Marape MP, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, and his spouse, Madame Rachel Marape.  

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, including Ms Kate Smith, Assistant Secretary, Southeast Asia Mainland Branch; and Ms Tamara Lai, Assistant Director, Thailand and Laos Section.
