On Wednesday 28 February 2024, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) received Mr Gerard Needham, Chief Executive Officer, and Mr Nick Jenkins, Recruitment Manager, Clontarf Foundation.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley received Letters of Credence from His Excellency Mr Monday Semaya Kenneth Kumba accrediting him as a non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan. The Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse Mrs Isabella Maniya Joseph Pitia.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Letters of Credence from His Excellency Mr Pham Hung Tam accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse, Mrs Le Thu Trang, and representatives from the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam including Mr Nghiem Xuan Hoa, Minister Counsellor, and Ms Le Thi Minh Chau, First Secretary.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Ms HK Yu PSM, Australian Ambassador to the Philippines.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as Joint Patrons, hosted a reception for Soldier On.
Later, the Governor-General was represented at RAAF Base Fairbairn for the arrival to Australia by His Excellency Ferdinand R Marcos Jr, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by Mr Paul Singer MVO, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.
