On Wednesday 24 April 2024, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.  

Then, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Holy Family Catholic Primary School, Indooroopilly, Queensland, as they undertook a school tour of Government House.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received His Excellency Mr Saad Al-Shareef, Ambassador of Qatar.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a lunch for Ms Sam Mostyn AO and Mr Simeon Beckett.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Mr Peter Frazer OAM, President, Safer Australian Roads and Highways, and Mrs Judy Frazer.
