On Wednesday 1 May 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley received Mr Paul Alaimo, Department of Home Affairs, and Ms Ilona Fegan, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received Mr Brek Batley, High Commissioner-Designate to the Kingdom of Tonga. 

Then, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, and the Governor-General, as guests of Mr Roland Peelman AM, attended the opening night of the Canberra International Music Festival.
