On Thursday 23 May 2024, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.  

Then, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from the Calvin Christian School, Tasmania, as they undertook a school tour of Government House.  

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted a lunch for the American Australian Association. Guests included Ms Stephanie Foster PSM; Ms Clare Walsh; Ms Erika Olsen; Ms Karen Sandercock; Ambassador John Berry (Retd) and Mr Curtis Yee; Mr Mark Baillie; Ms Leila Smith; Mrs Ian Irving; Mr Ben Scott; Ms Libbi Swan; and Ms Debbie Chappel. 

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Sara Moriarty, Australian High Commissioner to the Republic of Nauru. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General received His Excellency David Adeang MP, President of the Republic of Nauru.
