On Tuesday 23 July 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) received Her Excellency Ms Connie Taracena, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala, for a farewell call.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Peter Jennings, Executive Director, Australian Strategic Policy Institute, attended the Australian Strategic Policy Institute’s Australia-Indonesia Strategic Dialogue in Barton.
Later, the Governor-General received Dr Alan Finkel AO, Australia’s Chief Scientist.
Then, the Governor-General received Dr Brendan Nelson AO, Director, Australian War Memorial.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received Major General Liz Cosson AM CSC (Retd), Secretary, Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Later, the Governor-General received Mr Christopher John, Chief Executive Officer, and Ms Jasmine Cooper Sutton, Manager, Enterprise for Veterans, of the Prince’s Trust Australia.
Earlier, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with students from Genesis Christian College, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
