On Thursday 1 August 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Then, the Governor-General hosted breakfast with the Honourable Stephen Jones MP, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, and the Honourable Julian Hill MP, Assistant Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Kearns Public School, Kearns, New South Wales, as they underook a tour of Government House.

Later, the Governor-General received Ms Melissa Kelly, Ambassador to Kuwait. 

Then, the Governor-General conducted interviews with the Australian Women’s Weekly. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received representatives of the Department of Parliamentary Services, including Ms Lucy Dingwall, Ms Jacquiline Jordan, and Ms Penny Grist.

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Sally Scales, Chairperson, APY Executive Board Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Mr Greg Moriarty AO, Secretary, Department of Defence.
