On Thursday 12 December 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Admiral David Johnston AC RAN, Chief of the Defence Force, attended the Australian Defence Force Academy graduation parade. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General hosted a lunch for General the Honourable David Hurley AC CVO DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as guest of Professor Clare Wright OAM, Chair, attended the launch and dinner for 'Pompeii: Inside the Lost City' at the National Museum of Australia
