On Thursday 21 November 2019, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled to Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Amberley in Queensland.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Reviewing Officer, and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Group Captain Steve Pesce AM, Officer Commanding, attended a parade for the Consecration of the No. 86 Wing Standard.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Air Commodore Martin Smith, Senior ADF Officer, RAAF Base Amberley, attended a lunch and met with members of No. 86 Wing.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Air Commodore Smith, and Group Captain Stephen Chappell OAM ADC, Officer Commanding, No. 82 Wing, visited No. 6 Squadron.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Brigadier Stephen Dunn AM (Retd), attended a dinner to celebrate the birthday of the Royal Australian Regiment at the Canberra Institute of Technology in Reid.
