On Saturday 22 October 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Bendigo, Victoria.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Andrea Metcalf, Mayor, received a briefing on flood response and recovery activities at the Bendigo Flood Relief Centre.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Andrew Cooney, Director, visited and met with families and staff at the Bendigo Flood Relief Centre.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Bendigo, Victoria to Maribyrnong, Victoria.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Anthony Tran, Mayor, received a briefing on flood impacts across Maribyrnong City.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Maribyrnong residents impacted by recent flooding and community volunteers assisting with clean-up and recovery efforts.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Melbourne, Victoria to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
