On Thursday 8 August 2019, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley travelled to Brisbane, Queensland.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC QC, Governor of Queensland, and Mrs Kaye de Jersey, visited Government House, Queensland.
