Canberra, Australian Capital Territory; Darwin, Northern Territory

On Friday 19 July 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Darwin, Northern Territory.  

Upon arrival at Royal Australian Air Force Base Darwin, the Governor-General was welcomed by from His Honour Hugh Heggie AO PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory and received a Ceremonial Welcome by members of the Australian Defence Force.  

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as guest of Professor Len Notaras AO, Executive Director, visited the National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre.   

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Nigel Browne, Chief Executive Officer, visited the Larrakia Nation Cultural Precinct.  

Afterwards, the Governor-General as guest of Dr Richard Fejo, received a Saltwater Welcome to Country.
