Canberra, Australian Capital Territory; Evans Head, Lismore and Ballina, New South Wales

On Monday 20 June 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Councillor Linda Scott, President of the Australian Local Government Association, attended the ALGA National General Assembly.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Councillor Tanya Milligan, Mayor, Lockyer Valley Regional Council.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Evans Head, New South Wales.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Jeanette Wilkins, Principal, met with staff and students of St Joseph's Primary, Woodburn, at the school’s temporary campus in Evans Head.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Elly Bird, Coordinator, visited and met with volunteers involved in ongoing flood recovery and relief efforts at Resilient Lismore.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Jon Walker, Director, Employee Engagement, met with staff and donors of Red Cross Australia's Pop-Up Lifeblood Centre in Ballina, where the Governor-General donated blood.
