On Saturday 30 November 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Gold Coast, Queensland.

Then, the Governor-General as guest of Mayor Tom Tate, unveiled a memorial to the late Queen in Queen Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Steve Edgar, General Manager, visited the Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Mark Ryan, General Manager, Disaster and Emergency Management, visited the Disaster and Emergency Management Centre.

Then, the Governor-General as guest of Mr Grant Gabriel, Program Director, Environment Heritage and Resilience, Gold Coast City Council, received a brief on Gold Coast Council's Waste to Energy Project.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Marco Renai, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, visited the Men of Business Academy.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron and guest of Brigadier Alison Creagh AM CSC, President, attended the 2024 Paralympian of the Year Dinner.
