On Saturday 9 November 2019, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled to Greta, New South Wales.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Brett Wild, President, Central Hunter Business Chamber, participated in several events to mark the 80th anniversary of the Greta Army Camp at the 2019 Silky Oak Festival in Greta, New South Wales.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley returned to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Tom Papas, Festival Director, attended a screening of ‘Danger Close’ as part of the Veterans Film Festival at the National Film and Sound Archive.
