On Monday 29 July 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Then, the Governor-General attended a ceremony at which she issued the Oath or Affirmation of Office to newly appointed Ministers andAssistant Minsters , including:
the Honourable Tony Burke MP, Minister for Home Affairs, Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, Minister for Cyber Security, and Minister for the Arts; the Honourable Julie Collins MP, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and Minister for Small Business; Senator the Honourable Murray Watt, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations; the Honourable Clare O’Neil MP, Minister for Housing and Minister for Homelessness; Senator the Honourable Malarndirri McCarthy, Minister for Indigenous Australians; the Honourable Pat Conroy MP, Minister for Defence Industry and Capability Delivery and Minister for International Development and the Pacific; the Honourable Andrew Giles MP, Minister for Skills and Training; Senator the Honourable Jenny McAllister, Minister for Cities and Minister for Emergency Management; the Honourable Matt Thistlethwaite MP, Assistant Minister for Immigration; the Honourable Patrick Gorman MP, Assistant to the Prime Minister, Assistant Minister for the Public Service, and Assistant Minister to the Attorney-General; the Honourable Ged Kearney MP, Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care and Assistant Minister for Indigenous Health; Senator the Honourable Anthony Chisholm, Assistant Minister for Education, Assistant Minister for Regional Development, and Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; the Honourable Kate Thwaites MP, Assistant Minister for Social Security, Assistant Minister for Ageing, and Assistant Minister for Women; the Honourable Josh Wilson MP, Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy; and the Honourable Julian Hill MP, Assistant Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Melbourne, Victoria.
Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Doug Smith, Chief Executive Officer, attended The Smith Family’s Learning for Life Werribee Learning Club.
