On Friday 9 December 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Moama, New South Wales.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Chris Bilkey, Mayor, Murray River Council, received a briefing on the progress of flood recovery efforts.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley visited and met with staff of Merool on the Murray Holiday Park.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley visited and met with staff of Luxury on the Murray Houseboats.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley visited and met with staff of Moama Riverside Caravan Park.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a community lunch with emergency services representatives and volunteers.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Bilkey, met with residents and business owners impacted by recent flooding in Moama and surrounding regions.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Moama, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
