On Monday 6 February 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr David Smith MP, attended the 2023 Ecumenical Service to mark the commencement of Parliament.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr David Austin, Principal, met with students at the Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Michael Armstrong, Director, visited the Voices of Veterans’ new studio.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as joint patrons, hosted a reception for members and friends of the Veterans Film Festival.
