Afterwards, the Governor-General attended breakfast with the Honourable Matt Keogh MP, Minister for Defence Personnel and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.
Afterwards, the Governor-General was represented at St Paul’s Cathedral for the State Funeral of the Honourable Simon Crean by Honorary Aide-de-Camp Brigadier Robert Marsh PSM RFD HADC.
Then, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley received His Excellency Dr Ali Kraishan, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps; and Mrs Lubna Kraishan.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a farewell lunch in honour of His Excellency Dr Ali Kraishan. Guests included His Excellency Dr Ali Kraishan and Mrs Lubna Kraishan; His Excellency Mr Abdulla Alsubousi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates; His Excellency Mr Mahmoud Mohamed Gamal Eldin Zayed, Ambassador of Egypt; Her Excellency Mrs Wassane Zailachi, Ambassador of Morocco, and Mr Hamid Mernissi; His Excellency Mr Bassam Alqabandi, Ambassador of Kuwait, and Mrs Maha Alfalah; His Excellency Mr Sultan Fahad A Bin Khuzaim, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, and Mrs Norah Ibrahim Aldubaikhi; Mr Ian McConville, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr Paul Singer MVO, Official Secretary to the Governor-General; and Mr Jeff Barnes, Deputy Official Secretary to the Governor-General.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr James Johnson, Chief Executive Officer, Football Australia, attended the FIFA Women’s World Cup match between Australia and the Republic of Ireland.
