Canberra, Australian Capital Territory; Sydney, New South Wales

On Wednesday 29 November 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurly travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.  

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr John Azarias, Chairman, attended the presentation ceremony for the Lysicrates Foundation's James Martin School Walk.  

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr John Azarias, Chairman, attended the sixth Martin-Lysicrates Play Prize. 

Later, the Governor-General was represented at St Ignatius’ Church, Richmond, for the State Funeral of the Honourable Gerard (Gerry) Leslie Hand, by Honorary Aide-de-Camp Brigadier Robert Marsh PSM ADC.  

In the afternoon, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, hosted a high tea for the Sydney Opera House Ladies Committee.
