On Friday 5 July 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC received Mr Mike Burgess AM, Director-General of Security Australian Security Intelligence Organisation. 

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Greg Tyrell, Principal, met with students and teachers at Bonython Primary School. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General as guest of Ms Wendy Cave, Principal, met with students and teachers at The Ainslie School. 

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Jan Adams AO PSM, Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Honourable Milton Dick MP, Speaker of the House of Representatives; the Honourable Mark Dreyfus KC MP, Attorney-General; and Ms Claressa Surtees, Clerk of the House of Representatives. 

Later, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.
